For New Years we decided to stay in and just chill. Neil had off on New Years Eve so he took care of EVERYTHING! When I say everything, I mean every single aspect of the night! He hit up the liquor store, 2 fish markets and Mariano's to create a FEAST. Obviously, Clark went with him and did most of the heavy lifting, but I'll give Neil the credit for now.
**Warning: because I have been really bad about taking pictures lately, I went a bit overboard on NYE, excessive pictures coming your way**
I came home to a plate full of oysters and a cold bottle of champagne (and, by the way, a very clean apartment)!
I absolutely adore oysters!! We even had them as breakfast one morning on our honeymoon!
After oysters we took Clark out to play in the snow and run around. We then moved on to a bottle of Sav. Blanc from South Africa, which was so good and went amazingly with the shrimp (JUMBO shrimp)!
Since it hasn't stopped snowing in a few days we turned on the last few days of the Yule Log and tried to pretend it was giving off heat.
We then moved on to bacon wrapped scallops, which were amazing!!
I know this makes us look like complete fatso's, but this meal was also spaced over many hours and we only had 1 1/2 scallops each!
After this we waited awhile, watched TV, and drank moscow mules! Though we didn't have the copper cups (but will shortly) they tasted AMAZING!
Around 10 or so Neil started prepping our surf and turf dinner! Meet Larry and Frank:
Sadly, Frank (or was is Larry?) passed on before we were able to steam him, but Larry (or was it Frank?) lived on and put up a fight.
We tried to get Clark to play with the lobsters but he was afraid. Literally, the first and only thing I've ever seen Clark be afraid of is a lobster!
Master Chef.

SOOO good! And they came with bibs!
Dinner: Lobsters, filet and baked potatoes with some Pinotage from South Africa!
The whole meal was amazing!! We then heard the fire works going off outside and were able to see them from our apartment!
It was a wonderful New Years Ever! Here's to an amazing 2014!
Yesterday we took the pet out for awhile to play in the snow. He LOVES the snow!
Throw the ball, Dad!!
Sounds like a perfect NYE! Also, I am super impressed with Neil's cooking skills!
