Weekend Wrap Up

Weekends are the best. They are even better when you have a cute puppy to play with all weekend, and that's exactly what Neil and I did! Friday night, Neil's parents came over for dinner and to officially meet Sir Clark. Needless to say, they fell in love with him! We had a great time with the Berman's catching up, playing with Clark and chatting about the wedding. Mrs. Berman brought over an amazing salad, creme brulee for dessert and a bunch of toys for Clark!

Saturday morning I woke up to Neil making breakfast and brewing some coffee while his loyal sidekick, Clark sat patiently by his side waiting for scraps. I don't think I'll ever get sick of waking up and seeing either of their faces in the morning! Breakfast was excellent, as always.

After breakfast we had to scoot out to Puppy Play Time (adorable). Since Clark starts training next week, this is just a class to have him socialize with other puppies. The class was fun, but Clark was kind of a bully to a golden retriever! I'm super excited to start training next week. Neil and I have been working on him with some things at home, which he is catching on to, but it will be good to have him in a set training class!

Once the pup was worn out enough we left Play Time and headed over to our friends MaryKate and Kirk's house so they could meet C-dog. Mary and I took him for a little walk and we just hung out outside for a bit, it was an amazingly beautiful day on Saturday!

This was Clark on the way home. He literally did not move for an hour.

Saturday our friends Caitlin, Hunter and George came over to hang out and meet Clark. He LOVED all the attention he got all night and we had such a great time with everyone! Although I drank more than I should have, it was so fun to hang out with everyone. Caitlin and Hunter's big day is 19 days away and we can't wait to celebrate with them!! Clark was pretty beat by the time everyone left.

Saturday night Neil was hanging out on Craigslist (I probably should be more creeped out by that than I am) but he came across two tickets to the Chicago Gourmet Festival. We have been talking about going to this for awhile now, but it's such an expensive ticket we have found a reason to not go each year. We ended up getting a good deal on the tickets and met Pete (the guy with the tickets) at the festival. He was so nice and we were so thankful to him for the tickets! The festival was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. So basically, they close off Millennium Park and pack it full really nice restaurants in the city and about a million alcohol vendors. From champagne, to wine, to beer and whiskey they had everything you wanted! When you enter they give you a plate and a wine glass and then let you at it! Neil and I started off by sitting through a whiskey session where they talked about whiskey and we made an amazing cocktai. We then walked around and ate and drank the entire day!

                                                         Our loot from the festival!

We ended the weekend with the three of us napping on the couch. Amazing weekend!!
