Friday!!

Last night was a rough night. I got my hair done after work which meant Clark was in his crate the entire day with the exception of one pee break. So, because I feel guilty all the time about how long he's alone, I let Clark sleep in bed. Big mistake, huge! The jerk took up the entire bed and kept kicking me and snoring through the night. Then his pal, Neil started snoring too. I think I slept a total of 15 minutes before I finally bailed and went into the guest room.

So two cups of coffee later and I still feel like this

Love love love

Each day that passes I get more and more excited to marry Neil (228 more days)!! I'm so excited to buy our first place together, to travel, to have babies, to play at the dog beach with Clark, and watch Teen mom until MTV unfairly takes it off the air! While Neil plans the honeymoon and I'm working on the wedding, I feel like it's been easy sometimes to loose sight of the fact that we are doing all this to spend the rest of our lives together. So I'm trying to step back a bit and just focus on having fun with my future husband!

Being in a super sappy mood, I came across this today and nearly cried whole scrolling through the pictures.

Surprise Weekend Wrap Up

Monday's are the worst after a super fun weekend!

We started off low key. I cooked dinner for Neil and we just hung out and caught up on the DVR.

                                                                  Home Made Callamari
Pasta with a vodka cream sauce and meatballs

Saturday I met up with my cousin during the day and dropped Clark off at Doggie Day care. After Neil was done with work I picked him up and we met with our priest, who was awesome, and talked about our wedding! On the way home we picked up our very tired pet (10 hour play session) and went over to the Springate's because Caitlin was throwing Hunter a surprise 30 (29) birthday party!

The party was so much fun and Caitlin did a great job with the surprise! Sunday was a VERY low key day! Clark slept for the entire day with the exception of about 7 total minutes while Neil and I watched Zero Dark Thirty (amazing)!

It was a great and hopefully, the last cold, weekend!!

Weekend Review in Pictures

Such a fun weekend! Though there are more pictures, I will only post those that are flattering to all (well, maybe not me).

Megan and I met friends at a bar in the morning to celebrate St. Pats.

Neil met us out after work.

I feel asleep (passed out) and Clark hung out with me. At one point he was laying across me.

On Sunday, Clark really got into the spirit of things!

Neil made corned beef and cabbage for dinner (so great!!)

Clark was really feeling the effects of Saturday and he slept all day long! Poor little pup

I bless the rains down in Africa

This is going to be Neil and I for the next 8 months..

Down in Africa!!

Book Club

I'm back! After ready dud after dud, I took a little book breather, and while I missed reading, I think it was a  much needed break.

I've recently read some books by an author that my friend Katie recommended, Jonathan Tropper. I started off with "This is Where I Leave you" which is about a family dealing with the loss of their father whose dying wish was for them to sit Shiva after he passed away. It's definitely one of those dark comedies, dealing with sibling and parent relationships. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it for others to read.

The next Tropper book was "One Last Thing Before I Go" which again deals with trauma, death, family dynamics, etc. Although I didn't like this as much as the previous book I thought it was a quick read and certainly had interesting parts. It makes you think and question about what you would do if you were the main character, Silver.

Finally, I wrapped up the Tropper marathon with "Plan B: A Novel." I think this was one of his earlier books and I can see how his writing style has evolved. I think in this book he works to wrap things up so nearly. I'm used to authors like Gillian Flynn and Jodi Picuolt who don't really always give you the conclusion you want (and I'm starting to like that style). I do like the idea behind this book, college friends all at 30 years old trying to figure out their role in this world, and like so many people, they aren't where they thought they'd be at this age.

I just started "Dark Places: A Novel" by Gillian Flynn and am interested in where this ends! She has so many twists and turns in her books that I can't imagine how this is going to wrap up (although I have a guess..)

Clark Nose Best

The other day I was sitting at our kitchen table doing some work and I couldn't find Clark anywhere. I looked over at the couch and saw this

Still can't find the Clark? Let me get a little closer

The puppy slept like this for a solid hour. Makes me laugh every time I look at the picture!

Wedding Weekend Wrap Up

What a weekend!!! My mom came in town this weekend so we could get some serious wedding work under our belts and, boy did we!! A few highlights from the weekend:

- Went to 4 different wedding dress stories and tried on a good 75 wedding dresses. BUT I think we may have found THE ONE! Woo hoo!
- Checked out the reception site. LOVE that place.
- Surveyed the rehearsal dinner spot.
- Went to the hotel where we are having guests stay. I'm so glad we stopped there! They are totally rehabbing it and it will be done in a few weeks, it already looks awesome!
- Stopped at Ikea to get some center piece ideas.

Most importantly, my mom had some great bonding time with Clark :)

It was such an awesome weekend! I love when my mom is in town and we just had so much fun planning, chatting and brainstorming about the wedding. My mom is so creative and has a great vision for things so it was so helpful to have her here to help plan out the reception, too!!

Can't wait until round two!!

Mo made the greatest bandanna for Clark!! She also made a pretty impressive bow tie! Can't wait for this weekend so he can wear it!

It's supposed to snow a bunch tonight! I hope it really happens, one last storm before Spring!! Snow makes me want to dance.

YAY!!

This makes me smile

I'm sorry, Jesus

So I fell off the Lenten wagon this weekend. Hard.

Friday night Neil and I stayed in and hung out and I stuck to my guns. No booze.

Saturday started off at 6 am with Clark crying. Since I can't go back to sleep once I'm up I took him out for a long walk in hopes of wearing him out for the day. I then went to a Yoga class that I thought would mellow me out a bit. It did feel great and I sweat the morning away, but then I walked out of yoga into the cruel world of Saturday errands in the city. I ran into traffic, bad drives, strollers EVERYWHERE, crazy parking lots, all the joys of shopping during the weekend.

By the time I got home, I completely bailed on bridesmaid dress shopping (I hit a wedding wall) and went to get a pedicure. When I came home I was still so fried from not sleeping the past week that one glass of wine seemed fair. And I did have one glass of wine while Neil and I hung out before dinner.

What's one little glass?

At dinner, I ordered one glass and the restaurant actually brought me an extra one (at no charge). I took that as God's way of saying, "Hey, you deserve this." Plus, I have not lost any extra weight or saved a ton of money since this little experiment began, so I was a little frustrated.

That being said, I felt like crap at 6:30 am when Clark woke up and wanted to play. Lesson learned. I'm planning (hoping) to ride the rest of lent out with little to no mistakes.

This serves as confession, right?

Cookie, Cookie, Cooooookkiiieeee!!!

Well it's that time of year when Girl Scout cookies arrive. It seems like just yesterday we were getting ambushed by coworkers to buy their daughter's GS cookies, and now the orders have all been delivered.

Some kind soul in my office bought extra boxes for the office to share... jerk. Numerous boxes of thin mints laying around does not bode well for a bride to be. The only saving grace right now is that they are not frozen otherwise I would have eaten an entire box in one sitting.

I had a show down with one of the boxes Wednesday. I pretty much sat at my desk and thought about little else than the cookies across the room from me, however I did not cave!!

Today, as a reward for not loosing any weight this week I allowed myself two. I was shame eating when a coworker walked in. I had to make some bogus joke about girl scout cookies and their temptation levels, but really I just wanted him to leave me to my moment! The second he was gone I got back to business.

No regrets.

Sweet Moments

Someone had posted this video on facebook and I'm obsessed with it. I've cried like 6 times watching it because it's just the sweetest thing!

Watch this (the person who posted this one is a big fan of fade editing) So sweet

Naturally this makes me think of my little pup who is the sweetest dog I've ever met (no offense, Dublin, but you could be VERY sassy!) Neil and I always talk about how Clark will interact with our future children. Will he be jealous? Will he be as sweet with them as he is with us? I can't wait to see them interact and I'm so happy our children are going to grow up with a loving little (big) watch dog!

Unrelated, sweet little Clark ate a pillow this morning. I think this is his way of telling me that those pillows are outdated and we need new ones. Thanks, Clark! Such a fashionista!
